We are a small team filled with amazing independent stylists. We bring years of experience and passion about hair. Sure, we could bore you with stories from all our travels and adventures, but all you really need to know is that our goal is to make you feel comfortable and happy with your look.
Being a freelance space, we have some occasional faces that might come and go at J Salon, but our original team will always be there.

Julia
Beachy blondes and those looking for textured hair know Julia well, with a wealth of experience gained looking home and abroad for the latest styles and techniques. Likes a tailored cut, whether blunt or shaggy for hair that looks great styled or straight out of bed. Outside the salon, Julia live the quiet life in the Hunter Valley with Chris and the pups.
Maria
When she isn’t travelling or eating (yum food, only please), Maria is your girl for sharp blunt bobs, and natural blended colouring. Ok, she’s also your girl for bright pinks, blues, purples and more.
Jerry
Short, edgy cuts are his strong suit, but you can probably tell that by looking at him. Loves making you feel your best with a bouncy blow-dry, and is our in-house hair extension and Keratin specialist. Jerry is always looking for new adventures to motivate and inspire him, so please share yours.
Lisa
The newest member of the J Salon team bringing over 16 years of hair experience, with a passion for colour work and a reputation for the best lived in blondes, balayage, and extra bouncy blow drys that are sure to put a spring in your step as well. Originally from Canada’s British Columbia, she has called Australia home for a little over a decade, and loves hair that is set free, rather than stuffed under a woolly beanie for half the year.
Gina
A self-represented artist with an impeccable eye for detail and passion for enhancing beauty. Gina has worked on numerous projects across advertising, commercial, tv, beauty, fashion, bridal and events. Known for her artistic flair and attention to detail, a true expert in this field. With over 10 years experience Gina has been fortunate to work along side some of the top hair and makeup artist in the industry. Gina has a natural ability to make you feel good and a professional easy going personality, her consistent endeavour for perfection has opened doors to great opportunities.
Maika
If you want bright blonde and bouncy hair then Maika is your girl. Loves a good airy layered cut and a blowdry that will last you for days. With 10 years of experience Maika has definitely learned and picked up a lot of techniques along the way to help her create the hair her clients want. Living out the work-life balance with her two babies when she’s not in the salon. She’s always down to meeting new faces so come down on a Friday or Saturday.
